Who we are
ChatRid (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the ChatRid platform — a messaging automation service built on the official Meta Business API. We are based in India.

What we collect
Account information
When you sign up or book a demo, we collect your name, email address, and phone number.
Business information
To set up your account, we collect your business name, GSTIN (where applicable), billing address, and any other identifiers Meta requires for WhatsApp Business API verification.
Messaging data
When you use ChatRid to send or receive messages on WhatsApp, Instagram, or Facebook, the following data passes through and is stored on our servers:
- Contact phone numbers, names, and any custom attributes you assign
- Inbound and outbound message content, including media, attachments, and templates
- Message status (sent, delivered, read, failed) and timestamps
We act as a data processorfor this messaging data — you are the data controller, and your customers' data is yours.
Usage analytics
We collect aggregated usage data — pages visited, features used, error logs — to improve the product. We use first-party cookies and a small set of analytics tools described in our Cookie Policy.
Payment data
Payments are handled by Razorpay and PayPal. We never see or store your card or bank details. We only retain transaction IDs, amounts, and invoice metadata for billing and tax records.
How we use your data
- To provide and operate the ChatRid platform
- To send you account, billing, and service notifications
- To debug issues, prevent abuse, and improve reliability
- To comply with legal obligations (tax records, lawful requests)
- With your explicit consent, to send product updates or marketing emails
We do not use your message content for advertising, model training, or any purpose unrelated to delivering the service to you.
Who we share data with
We share data only with the sub-processors required to run the service:
- Meta Platforms, Inc. — to send and receive messages via the official WhatsApp Business, Instagram Graph, and Facebook Messenger APIs.
- Razorpay Software Pvt. Ltd. — to process payments from customers in India.
- PayPal Holdings, Inc. — to process international payments.
We may also share data when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
Data retention
We retain account and billing data for as long as your account is active and for up to 7 years thereafter to comply with Indian tax law. Messaging data is retained for the duration of your subscription. On request, we delete personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest. Access to production systems is restricted to a small set of authorised personnel and audited. We will notify affected users without undue delay if we become aware of a data breach.
Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India) and applicable laws, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Erase your personal data (subject to legal retention)
- Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time
- Lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India

Children
ChatRid is not intended for individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we have, please contact us and we'll delete it.
International transfers
Some of our sub-processors (Meta, PayPal) operate globally and may process data outside India. We rely on their compliance with applicable cross-border data transfer mechanisms.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect.
